I had a hard time in high school using the men's bathrooms as a gay male. I can't imagine how she feels as a transgender woman. She should be able to use the bathroom in which she identifies with. End of.

No it isn't legally required to give gender. And you sure aren't forced to let the school know in case of a change of your gender identity either.

It probably hasn't much b/c it's currently not acceptable for trans men to use women's restrooms. Once the door for that is open, instances are very likely to increase.

I think gender neutral bathrooms are a good idea, don't get me wrong. her school have arranged that for her (which they technically don't have to do, they are going beyond to accommodate her with that which is good) but she's refusing to use it

Well, I can't speak for her because I have no idea what it's like. I guess she doesn't want to be segregated?

I was speaking in general terms in the beginning and went on to expound about why I felt forcing trans people into the alternative of unisex facilities was also wrong in case paragraphs are too much for you.

I get that she feels female etc but the reality is that she's not going to be safer or more comfortable in the girls bathroom than she would be in her gender neutral bathroom. girls were actually protesting her using it etc (not saying that was right, just pointing out that that's not the safest option for her & y'all are arguing about safety)

Kid first of all you were the one that used those dumb examples of "not being safe anywhere" so if either of us needs to get off his butt and get a reality check it's you.

If a fake trans-woman were to walk into a girls-bathroom with the intention of harming a woman or little, she wouldn't be stopped because most people would just think she was a genuine trans-woman. How would we be able to tell the difference? That's the point that you conviently missed.

Lastly it depends on the situation. Some people would help the woman or little girl and other's would be too scared. And that could apply to almost any situation where someone is being harmed in a public space, not just fake-trans women in the girls bathroom
