I wish I could say all the things that crossed my mind this morning after I watched some of the videos shot at Janets new show. But i cant because, afterall i respect her for the legend she is.
To stay on topic, I'll only say how much on a league of her own, Madonna is.

She said a bunch of things like this in the mid-'80s, and I'm pretty sure it was just to promote herself as an actress as well as a singer when she still had the potential to be taken seriously in film, before too many flops finished that.

If you watch Cher's famous first interview with Letterman (in '86, when she had just turned 40), she said the reason she hadn't put out a record in five years is that people had told her she wouldn't be taken seriously as an actress as long as she was singing.

i thought the same but didn't wanna say anything because you know how atrl is.

i think anyone with common sense can see what youre saying.

but its too bad her fans use the race card as an excuse. (janet is not as big as madonna cuz she's black. etc) . just look at the quality of the show. thats the answer isn t it? makes me wonder how I've seen some sites like AOL give her glowing reviews.

Actually in 1998 she said that there's no way she's going to do pop music and touring in her fifties....but she did changed her mind in the end and I hope she's gonna continue to push boundaries and not only focus on directing and comedy....

she also said women can still be artists and famous when they'e 40 or 50 and that society is ageist and sexist etc.

in 1998 she got all spiritual and acted like she's above pop hits. she played it kinda safe and didn't seem to be interested in fame and pop anymore. it was a phase.
