Fausto Aguilera Senior has passed away, hope Legend is ok! But I'm pretty sure she hasn't been in contact with her grandparents for a very long time.

I was listening to Stripped last night, ugh, I really love that album.
It meant so much to me as a kid and the music is actually really good.
It's so sad she couldn't maintain the same success because her voice is truly a rare gem.

Anyways I got bored and redid the Stripped era because it had a lot of missed potential IMO.
It should totally be considered a classic so it's too bad. She was totally doing the post-Madonna pre-Miley thing
and never gets adequate credit for that. Stripped was just too long and was bad at focusing on a musical concept.

I think a lot of people confuse Christina's lengthy albums for "overkill", critics especially, when she actually just loves to include a variety of different themes and sounds. That was the biggest criticism for Bionic, even though X herself described it as a "pick-your-favourite" kind of album. But I agree, Christina's lack of consistency is her worst enemy commercially and critically speaking! I think Back To Basics is her best example of consistency, that's probably why it's her highest rated album on Metacritic (which still isn't high enough).

Christina (musically) has never and will never be a critics darling though. She's too polarizing in that regard.

What makes an album solid is the cohesiveness of it. Xtina, sure, is known for the variety of things she can pull off.
On Stripped, the mix was impeccable - some urban-tinged music, some straight piano ballads, even some latin influences.
She could've mixed it together just fine but songs like "Underappreciated", "Make Over" and such weigh the album down.

Even Back To Basics suffered the lengthy nature...
However, she managed to target the "cohesive" aspect which, in turn, got critic attention and public respect.

So that South African of the Year Awards is on October 17th. According to the site that sells tickets for The Voice, the last day of filming for season 10 blind episodes is October 16th. A flight to South Africa from LA is around 21 hours. Does this mean that she is NOT doing season 10?

I knew she seemed annoyed with The Voice after the Live with Kelly and Michael interview, if it's true (assuming she releases late this year or early 2016) this era will be the first era since B2B that hasn't been conflicting with something else (Bionic with Burlesque and Lotus with The Voice). Is she finally prioritizing her music again?

I want to get excited about it, but it just seems so good to be true. Like, watch her performance at the awards be taped or something.

Better yet, watch them postpone The Voice taping dates just to accommodate her.

Wait.. This is gonna be Season X of The Voice, it seems too good an opportunity for NBC to miss.

We'll have to look out for any changes to the dates on that website. Didn't her other makeup artist tell a fan he'd be working with her again soon? I suppose having someone other than Kristopher doing her makeup is something to look forward to, right?
