A lot of people are saying that it's record of the year. I agree. There's been a lot of great pop albums this year, but this one is literally everything. It's so ****ing good.

Is anyone else reminded of Kylie's Body Language album when they listen to "Black Heart"? It sounds very similar to "Still Standing" and "Secrets (Take You Home)" production-wise.

I LOVE how Carly still has the spunkiest lyrics in pop. Pitchfork dismissed her for being void of a personality but I promptly disagree when her and her team write with so much character. Her lyrics are so smart and effortless.

"Drink tequila for me babe / let it hit you cool and hot / Let your feelings be revealing that you can't forget me / Not a flower on the wall / I am growing ten feet, ten feet tall"

I just love how "Can't forget me not" and "Not a flower on the wall" segue into each other. That whole song is lyrical genius.

"I feel like I could die walking up to the room, oh yeah / Late night, watching television / But how'd we get in this position?"

"I Really Like You" is so relatable, it hurts. It almost makes me ache for all the dumb crushes that I've had. Almost. And no two lines can sum up everything you feel about a certain someone better than:

"It's like everything you say is a sweet revelation / All I wanna do is get into your head"

Gimmie Love just rolls off the tongue: "Cuz I want what I want / do you think that I want too much?", and so does the entirety of I Didn't Just Come Here to Dance (the spunkiest on the entire album).

Boy Problems is SO much fun with:

"If you're gonna go then go / She said to me on the phone / So tired of hearing all your boy problems / if you're gonna stay then stay, he's not gonna change anyway"

I especially like the phone line. The whole song is so simple yet the story it conveys is very effective: "I think I broke up with my boyfriend today and I don't really care / I've got worse problems"

Warm Blood sends me shivers even when I'm just thinking about it and leaves me breathless when I listen to it. I could just post the whole thing here. THE LINE ABOUT THROWING IN THE TOWEL??? and the bridge:

"Warm blood underneath my skin / Warm blood, my heart is pumping"

. Beautiful. I'm a sucker for anything that takes us back to the basic elements of being living, breathing, humans.
