I'm off all this week as today is my birthday and I am thinking about getting into her album and mixtapes as i keep hearing all the critical acclaim and stuff.

I'm listening to desperado and just finished listening to jumanji when someone brought it up in SYG

It's hard to say. Her Fantasea mixtape is her most cohesive sonically and lyrically, but doesn't have nearly as much standouts as Broke With Expensive Taste. Her 1991 EP is great to. It only has 4 tracks though, which is why it ranks the lowest, but each song could be considered amongst some of her best work.

But honestly just about every song she puts out is great so my opinion wouldn't mean much.

All 3 projects are very different from each other but still cohesive and very Azealia. Her sound/lyrics are very specific.

I'd start chronologically because you really see how she evolves over the 3 releases. The 1991 EP is 4 songs and all are solid 8-9-10/10's, it includes 212. Fantasea mixtape is more experimental and you can tell it's Azealia testing things out but overall it's still a strong package. Broke With Expensive Taste is a cut above the rest though like it's original, fresh and compelling from start to finish.

I'd recommend the following.

1991 EP: 1991, Liquorice, 212, Van Vogue

Fantasea: Out of Space, Atlantis, Fantasea, F*ck Up The Fun, Fierce, Jumanji, Aquababe, Us, Paradiso/Luxury, Esta Noche.

Broke With Expensive Taste: Gimme A Chance, Desperado, Wallace, Heavy Metal & Reflective, Ice Princess, Soda, Chasing Time, Miss Amor, Miss Camaraderie.

Other releases: Venus, ATM Jam (Kaytranada Remix), Count Contessa, Slow Hands.

I'm off of work all week on vacation.

So far not one bad song...

I love it and get why she's critically acclaimed.

The 1991 EP is such a great place to start. I'd never really listened to a song like 1991 before I'd heard it so it took a while to grow on me but now it's my favourite song by her. Her flow + worldplay are next level, then there's the amazing video. Van Vogue is brilliant aside from the interlude at the end, it was originally offered to Lil Kim to. I consider Liquorice an Azealia classic now aswell.

Continue to let us know your thoughts. Venus doesn't belong on anything and it's her most Pop/Dance track to date along with Chasing Time so you should give that a spin to, she did it with Paul Oakenfold.

Yeah, gaga stans have started to feel their bleep again after she got a standing ovation at the oscars and won that grammy with legend tony...

It's 1:30 p.m. right now. I'm going to listen to it around 3 p.m. and give my opinions. I already heard desperado which I LOVE.

It makes me feel a little sad because from an ARTISTIC standpoint, I feel she is doper than any other female rapper out now. I can feel the hard work, research and ability to bring a vision to life in many of her songs.

gimme a chance is a great pop flavored song
Desperado I already heard it before and always slayed
JFK is the only song I don't really care for but more for the guy that ruins it.
212 already heard and loved
Wallace solid
Heavy metal love it
BBD love it
Ice princess could have been a top 40 crossover song and it reminds me of kylie's can't get you out of my head for a split second
Soda ends ups being great and I feel emotionally invested in it.
Chasing time is another song that would be a great single
Luxury same as I said before it sounds better though
nude beach a go go wow it gives me a weird throwback beach boys and throwback of a 1980s sitcom opening credits song...and that's a compliment by the way. It's cute.
Miss amor love it
miss camaraderie I like it.

Overall, I get why this is so acclaimed. This is an exceptional piece of work that I could workout too or just play around the house. It's her best work and she actually has some top 40 esque songs that could do well.
the only critique I'd give is that quite a fews feel like it uses similar inspiration

Overall I am pleased top 5 in no order (Soda, Ice princess, gimme a chance, BBD, Heavy metal) 212 as well but I heard that awhile back...
