Just as a brainstorm, who should be included?
Tinashe, Shamir, Run the Jewels, Halsey, Kendrick Lamar, Haim, Fetty Wap, Sturgill Simpson, Meghan Trainor, Kacey Musgraves, Frank Ocean, Miguel, Kitty, Alabama Shakes, Perfume Genius?
This could be great.

Forgot about Haim. If this is a mixture of females and males (the original wasn't which is why I just suggested girls on the last page) then that opens up a lot more possibility.
Let's keep Meghan out if we can.

I don't really have anything against Meghan but I think if she was included in that rate she'd be dragged to the depths. It would probably make more sense to split it up into a Pop one and a more 'Indie' one.

That's true, so that's why I've been pitching this idea so that Meghan has a chance to win.
Title vs. X vs. In The Lonely Hour

I don't see why we can't have some testosterone. I'd want a diverse mixture with also two or three artists that could potentially get dragged. No rate feels complete without some lashings.

Meghan goes well with the concept of the rate, but I can see why she would feel out of place next to those other artists. The original was more indie-focused, but did include Karmin.

A few possibilities, assuming we use some duos and groups
HOLYCHILD
Tinashe
Zendaya (?)
Priest (promo for my fave)
Natalie Prass
Melanie Martinez
Waxahatchee
Kelela
Chelsea Lankes
Tei Shi (!!!)
Rich White Ladies (!)

I've heard of only half of these artists. I'm looking for people who have had some kind of recognition as a best new American artist over the last three or so years. Whether it be mainstream success or critical acclaim, I don't think it should matter.
Natalie doesn't seem to have any singles, unfortunately.

Oh dd okay then I think your list works better.
Natalie has "Why Don't You Believe In Me" and "Bird of Prey". Both got music videos, so idk if they could be considered singles because of that?

Well, I mean, that's just how I interpret the concept, judging by the title and the first edition.
I think those can definitely count as singles for Natalie, if she's included.

I feel like Waxahatchee, Kitty, and Nick Jonas could be really cute additions too.
P.S. - somebody should really get on a Canada rate. There are so many interesting, rate-worthy Canadian artists doing it right now.

That was the concept of my very first rate but I got overzealous and ended up with 100 songs But yeah that would be really good.

Oh, I remember! I didn't see it on the list of completed rates.

He could work.
What artists from my list would you want, besides Frank and Miguel?

Tori Kelly could work for yours too, right?
edit: Forgot that other girl is Canadian.
Maybe Kelela again but I think we're good. I wouldn't use Frank and Miguel anyway, Tinashe either since she "graduated". I was leaning towards the R&B acts that haven't made any noise on the charts yet and more indie focused.

All these Canadians.
Oh, okay. Tori could work. I don't really see the interest in her, though. Lemme see what Ace says.

I think I'd like them more than Tori. What do you think of this group:

I already pitched a Miguel vs Frank Ocean vs The Weeknd rate and Ace rejected it because he wants to use Frank and Weeknd in This Was 2015.
If he frees Frank & Weeknd, my rate will be a go

Yeah, but if Ace decides to do that, he'd be using their albums, not their singles.
Also, those three men barely even have enough singles as lead artists to be in a rate completely by themselves.
