I think Dawn would fit better than Ashanti. As far as I can recall those albums were fairly acclaimed (not sure about Kelly). I haven't heard an Ashanti song since like 2004 so I can't comment.

I was actually going to pitch this idea a little while ago so I made a list, I have to go find it. There's some overlap with New Sound of R&B... not sure if that would be okay or not. Also some of these girls are from like 2010/2011 but they weren't used in the first instalment and are still very prominent forces today so I think they could still work.
I'll browse for some more in the meantime.
There are also really important girls/groups like Courtney Barnett, Tkay Maidza, Jessy Lanza, or CHVRCHES but they're not American. Maybe we could do a separate rate for International?
