 Oh.
Well what else can she do? She already went on TV and everything. Maybe tour? Isn't that what majority of artist do Post-Album release

				3. Did Perforamces for AAY on Kelly and Michael, XFactor, Take 40, Sunrise Australia, FiFi & Dave, etc. (All the performances are on YouTube)

		 |

The majority of those performances are in a whole other country, financed by the label in THAT country.
AAY has nothing do with BIBO anyway. It's not even on the album in any edition but Japan's and it was released eight months before the album. I will say that RCA did a decent job with that stand-alone single last year.
The promotion for the BIBO era has been awful. All the Sparks performances, except for Ellen were done album release week, which is typical promo for an album release, nothing out of the ordinary or noteworthy at all. Though it did help the single chart on the Hot 100

The iTunes banner was for the album and not the single, also nothing noteworthy.

The HAC add date was pointless as Sparks isn't even an HAC song and it got next to no push on that format anyway.

Well then where is the Folk/Earthy Pop Album she promised? BIBO sounds like Dance-Pop
I'm confused

They ditched that sound when fans and the general public complained that the folk pop album wasn't what they wanted from her.

"Chasing the Sun" pretty much is the killer of this era, she had an EXTREME amount of hype last year with her comeback, and then the song wasn't hype enough. Had "Sparks" been released then instead, I'm pretty sure we'd have had at least 80K opening week, and two more singles out by now with a tour being planned for this fall.

Honestly, the album should've been pushed back until late fall/winter. That would've given her more time to promote, get an image ready, and get at least one award show performance before the album release. Traditionally, she performs at the AMA's.

Either way, I think they will do a re-release ala Nick Jonas. It's the perfect time. They could do a single in late September, do the promo rounds and re-release in November.

If your fave goes away for nearly 10 yrs, comes back with an album and let it be, would you be satisfied?

If you're asking for my opinion then yes, I would be satisfied with this era because (and this isn't shade so please don't take it the wrong way) she was never going to smash. If my fave goes away for ten years (after a not-so-successful era) unless she were a legend, then there is no way she is going to have massive success and thats the truth.

We're not dragging her for being a good mother and staying out of the spotlight. We're complaining because we thought we'd be served with a killer comeback. Instead, we got a ridiculous mess! And it's only getting worse with these cancellations and no apologies...

Also, stop telling other members not to share their thoughts on the situation. ATRL is a forum, everyone here has something to say, whether it's negative or positive. We're discussing our fave, it's not like you don't criticize yours either.

Who told you not to share your thoughts? Certainly not me, you're putting words into my mouth. Me and monalisa simply questioned why y'all care so much about success and you gave your answer in your first paragraph, so that last paragraph doesn't make sense.

You are 'dragging' (your word not mine) her for staying out of the spotlight. To me, a solid album is enough to serve as a killer comeback but I guess not for other people and that's fine. I questioned why and I'm allowed to, just like you're allowed to post and respond.

I think y'all should stop spreading negativity because honestly, look at the last few pages You wouldn't think this is an album thread for a great record.

Haha it's okay Well she does plan on touring next year but that'll be 6 months since the release & with no hype now, we don't even know if it will work or not.

I know that Hils isn't going to smash like the main pop girls but at least put in some more effort? I am still mad at her putting out CTS. Folk would've sound better imo, minus CTS.

EDIT: Her Dignity era was successful ok

She'll tour after the next album I think. She's going back to filming her show next month.

Yes. It came out August 5th with All About You, Chasing the Sun and Outlaw as bonus tracks.

I always find this arguement so silly because, if that were the case, no new artists would ever be able to breakthrough. Like you said, it's been nearly ten years since she's been away from music, so she basically is breaking through as a new artist to a lot of people, but she also still has a dedicated fanbase. It's about how much work an artist is willing to put in that determines how successful they will be imo.

+ I don't think anyone here doubts that BIBO is a fantastic album.

I think a lot of fans, including me, got scared of her "folk sound" after CTS came out. Now that I actually have the album I like the "folk" songs and they don't sound anything like Chasing The Sun. But I never see 80k happening for Hilary ever again because radio simply will not get behind her, she still has a certain image that people associate with the tween crowd despite her age. And a tour/album couldn't happen in the fall because of Younger.

Time to promote - I feel like the year we had from July 2014 - June 2015 was plenty of time for promotion if RCA had a bigger budget/Hilary had a bigger work ethic.
Image - They did this with the Tinder/hair color/Sparks video.
Award shows - I don't think Hilary cares to do these high profile things anymore.

Not when RCA/Hilary released a LITERAL AD for the "first single" (RCA's words). Bye Felicia.
I'm sad cause at this point I don't feel like a tour is going to happen and so many of the creative/marketing choices from this era were extremely messy. To top it all off, I don't feel like Hilary cares that much about any of it.

I'm afraid that when Younger continues to grow next season, Hilary will completely forget about music, and we'll have to wait another 8 years for another album. Right now she says she already has ideas for the next album, I hope she sticks to that.
I also wish she'd officially just let us know whether she's done with this era or not.

Picture This is way underrated. It may not have her best vocal delivery, but the lyrics are so relatable to my life at the minute.
Hands creep down my waste, little slower now, hands creep down my waste, let me show you how...
