I still want to review Florence, but I just haven't found the motivation.
Maybe I'll find the time to drag Demi.

Demi Lovato - Cool For The Summer
"Cool For The Summer" is Demi's first single for her fifth album, after a moderate success era "Demi" with multiple platinum singles such as Heart Attack, Neon Lights, Really Don't Care, Let It Go,.. many people would have thought that Demi would continue with the bubblegum pop and be a Disney girl. But, Demi has proved that they're all wrong.
Throughout the teasers, we have all known that Demi would deliver it, and she did. From the piano, to the sassy rock beat, it screams "hit". Why ? Because this is the first time Demi has ever worked with the hit-maker Max Martin. "Cool For The Summer" doesn't sound like a summer song although it has "summer" in the title. The vibe it brings us is a dark, sexy, hot that is about her first time experiencing a lesbian kiss. Also, there are some remarkable lyrics from this : "Don't tell your mother." / "Don't be scared cause I'm your body type". Who would have thought, Demi could go this sexy and bring out all she have inside ?
Although it sounds like a hit, the song definitely doesn't have the peak it should've got due to the releasing schedule and her different direction, no more kids, it's time to find new fans : the older fans. She has shown how grown up she is without asking for help, naked, asking for rappers to join her to make her look bitchier, and that proves a lot how Demi is still a shining star in this business.

Idc if this doesn't count but HBTB is one of the most dreadful efforts by a major musician I have heard in a while. I cannot comprehend how awful it is let alone how it induces any praise. But I guess the only people I've seen praise it are the stans so...
1/10.
Just awful. Everything about it.

Demi Lovato’s “Cool For The Summer” is as annoying as the artist who yells it. At the points in the song when she does attempt to restrain herself (a rare occurence for Lovato) she ends up sounding like she’s suffering from a bout of constipation. Rest assured for all the Lovatics that Demi is feeling better as she belts “Take me down into your paradise” so loudly and insufferably that I’m sure she literally shat herself in the studio. To be honest a recording of that would sound better than what this ‘song’ does. Take your lesbian-appropriation song and get the **** out of here. Buy Good for You on iTunes.

Demi Lovato's Cool For The Summer is one of the hit singer's best singles to date. Spicing it up with rock guitars, massive pop productions and tearing down the beats in certain areas that were necessary, Demi Lovato hit the nail on what everyone wanted from her. She brought back essence of her pop-rock era and was able to perfectly balance this song to make it the Pop Summer Anthem we all wished it would have been.
However, one has to admit that this is not one of her best vocal performances and after weeks into listening to the song, you either really fall in love with it or it really quickly becomes a skip-worthy song in your music library that you may consider listening to occasionally over the summer.
Regardless whether you consider Cool For The Summer a hit or a miss, this song is a masterpiece in its own right.

Demi Lovato- Cool For The Summer
'Cool For The Summer' is the lead single off of Demi Lovato's upcoming fifth studio album. Being released on the first of July, the combination of the song's summer theme and the chart-topping songwriter-producer behind it (Max Martin), it seemed like this was going to be Demi's first big hit after the underperformance of her previous singles. How wrong that assumption was.
There is no word more fitting for this song than 'tragedy'. Demi's insufferable vocal performance alone makes the song completely unlistenable. She screams her way through the chorus leaving your ears ringing while her attempt at sexy breathy vocals in the verses will leave you cringing.
The melody of the chorus is a direct copy-and-paste of the single 'Domino' by British recording-artist Jessie J meaning this song isn't even remotely fresh or new, but instead completely generic and dated. Even the lyrical content is not only try-hard but also offensive as Lovato promotes the idea of homosexuality being something that is just "cool for the summer".
Overall the song sounds like a sell-out and a desperate attempt at a summer hit without an ounce of originality. This painfully bad song doesn't have any replay value and is not even worthy of being an album filler.

Demi Lovato's "Cool For The Summer" was clearly released in a pathetic attempt for Demi to finally score a hit with some form of impact and longevity. Nevertheless, she failed once again. What begins as an inoffensive and bland pop song quickly devolves into a screaming match between Demi and herself. Throughout the song Demi seems intent on damaging the eardrums of the listener. Just as we have come to expect from Demeteria, this is another in a long line of disappointing flops from the singer as well as being outdated, unlistenable and just plain pathetic.

Demi Lovato - Cool for the Summer
Demi's lead single from her fifth album is without a doubt one of her best singles so far in her career. She wanted a summer hit and she got it. Sexy, fun and dark are the the adjectives that most define this song.
The song is a roller coaster that goes from the piano in the verses to rock elements in the chorus, something everyone seemed to want from her. Demi is coming back to her pop/rock roots in this single. The chorus is catchy and will get stuck in your head through the whole summer. It's impossible not to sing the "Don't tell your mother / kiss one another / die for each other / we're cool for the summer!" line at the top of your lungs, specially in the last chorus where she blows up and goes to a higher register, something common in Demi.
The song, lyrically, is not something out of this world and not her best effort, but they fit the atmosphere of the song perfectly.
Vocally is not as edgy as Heart Attack, something good since she won't struggle as much as she did in the beginning with Heart Attack live. She uses her head voice in the verses, not common in her which makes us think she could be exploring her vocal range more this era.
The perfect song for the summer this year. Something dark from Demi that we are not used to see and her first work with Max Martin that worked out perfectly. If the rest of her album is even better than the first single she will deliver an amazing album and the best of her career.

Demi Lovato - Cool for the Summer
Demi has used 4 simple ingredients to score herself a hit with the lead single from her upcoming 5th studio album.
1. Max Martin. Max Martin is one of the biggest producer's in pop. A notable hitmaker. He's made hits such as ...Baby One More Time, I Want It That Way, Roar & Shake It Off. He's worked with some of the biggest names in pop and has been scoring hit & after hit since Demi was still a cast member on Barney. If you want a catchy, radio friendly pop song that will give you a quick top ten hit, give Max a call. Demi did.
2. SOTS? Every year, stans & the general public alike, look for that one song that will define their summer. A song they can hear and be taken back to the summer they spent on the beach with a loved one, surrounded by friends by a campfire, etc. Demi released a summer themed song around the 4th of July. Unfortunately people chose other songs to remind them of summer 2015.
3. A new sexualized image. Demi has gotten noticeably thinner this year and was quick to show off some skin. Worked for Britney, worked for Christina, even worked for her Disney peer Miley. Unfortunately the Cool for the Summer video didn't garner the attention such videos like Dirrty or Wrecking Ball did.
4. Don't tell your mother. Demi toys with the idea of being with another girl. Bisexuality has been a hot topic in pop music for a while now. See: Poker Face by Lady Gaga. But homosexuality isn't just something that is cool for two months. Demi's attempt at being controversial and/or sexy is off putting.
Most of these steps usually result in a hit, but unfortunately it didn't work for Demi. Demi's awkward sultry vocals and screeches over a messy piano, pop, then rock instrumental certainly don't help. The song lacks authenticity & is too all over the place. Having said that, the hook does get stuck in your head, like any Max Martin production, so it does get some points.
Verdict: 3/10.

I mean, I agree with somepoint from Baby Boy and also agree with the 3 from him since he actually gives reason. While you guys give her the 0s and then said :

Demi Lovato's "Cool For The Summer" is, unfortunately, not something anyone will be remembering come October.
A clear attempt to garner a defining hit for Ms. Lovato, hit-maker Max Martin was recruited to create a summer smash that could finally take the talking point off of Demi's personal struggles and on to her music. The chorus, a rehash of Jessie J's "Domino," is yet another loud, yelling party from Demi Lovato, who recently released songs suffering from similar fates like "Heart Attack," "Really Don't Care," and "Neon Lights." The forced strain in her voice in the verses does nothing for the song, though the instrumental breakdown does redeem it some.
The sexualized image, a possibly hypocritical move by Demi, simply has not connected with the common listener. Unlike her peers, Demi Lovato seemingly attempted to reenact the moves that have worked for pop stars before her, namely Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus.
With copied ideas, images, and sounds, the tune might be stuck in your head for a day . . . but certainly not for a summer.
