This is all in my opinion remember so keep that in mind.
- ARTPOP is an incredible album and Gaga's best.
- Britney Jean is a great album.
- Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are incredibly overrated and don't have much other than sales to back them up or fall back on. (Not saying they don't deserve success or that they're not good artists, but what else do they really have to their name when it all boils down?) And I find this and their feud so incredibly ironic since they're so similar as artists in that they both arguably cater to a similar young audience.
- Roar and Shake It Off are two of the absolute worst songs released in recent memory. (And they were both incidentally followed by two amazing singles each and two okay singles each.)
- 1989, while being a good album, is the most overrated album of the decade on here, and half of its "stans" would agree if sales weren't a factor.
- Taylor's "strong stanbase" will crumble (to a degree) when she has a decline commercially since a good percentage of them are just bandwagonning this era due to her success.
- There are absolutely 0 interesting male musical artists in the mainstream at this moment in time and that's extremely disappointing.
- This is more for fellow Monsters than ATRL in general, but while I personally love Born This Way (the album), it was without a doubt the cause of her commercial decline. I know literally 0 people outside of the internet that actually liked the album or era other than The Edge of Glory. If she had released ARTPOP in it's place, we would have seen stability or growth in success rather than decline. (But I'm still happy she released it to be honest because it's an amazing album that did a lot of good.)
I just realized that this post paints me as a Taylor hater, but I do like her. People just have a warped view of her and her stans here because of her current success I think and it kind of bothers me that they're letting chart numbers blind them. But that's ATRL for you I guess.
Uptown Funk deserved every bit of success it got and is one of the best mainstream songs of the decade and came at the right time.
Body Music by AlunaGeorge is the best pop album of the decade, not 1989.
E.T. (song) is just atrocious.
The singer themselves lacking emotion sometimes does not make me enjoy a song any less (a common criticism of Beyoncé) because if the song still hits me hard that's all I care about.
Nude Beach a Go Go is absolutely perfect from start to finish.
Rachel was the funniest and most consistent Friend.

Born This Way and ARTPOP are God and Jesus. Born This Way invented the world and gays, then ARTPOP was born and everyone hated it and killed it, then God resurrected it and it was slaying harder than ever.

Yes @ Uptown Funk. I never understood the amount of hate that it gets just because it slayed a little too much. It's an awesome song.
I agree with the Rachel part too. And E.T is horrible, indeed
I don't mind E.T. but I don't like the version with Kanye in it as much.
This isn't necessarily an Unpopular Opinion but honestly, I'm not a big fan of remixes where an artist is thrown on a song.Rap songs are notoriously bad at this.
