Oh, it's fine! A lot of people don't know because "transsexual" is still prevalent among non-LGBT+ circles. Essentially, transgender is more appropriate because biological sex can't be changed (though physical bodies can via hormones), while gender, gender expression, physical appearance, hormone balance, etc. can all be changed by a person who feels their biological sex doesn't "match" their gender. Plus, not all trans* people get what is referred to as "sex reassignment" surgery (which is really just cosmetic and some people aren't comfortable with it). It's just more inclusive and accurate.
