I don't know if you're allowed to post link but try mouseyblue on livejournal. Their skins/eyes/makeup are amazing. I had their skin on all of my sims back when I used to play Sims 2. If you want really human-like skin, the only option is to grab the ones that are photoskinned from pictures of celebs when you download a celebrity sim, though they never really look good on your sims

Yes, but honestly Mod The Sims & TSR are the worst sites ever to get custom content ( especially MTS their stuff are awful and outdated ). I recommend checking out some CC finds blogs on Tumblr, that's where most of the nicest Sims 3 contents are from, search Tumblr for "s3cc" or "s4cc" and voila!

My CCs are mostly CAS stuff especially clothes and accessories. I delete things I don't use anymore frequently too so my Mod folder always stay under 1 GB, might have been heavier had I play female sims cause the amount of CC for female is probably 5x the amount for male  . I'm happy enough with most of the furnitures from the game itself so my build CCs would mostly be decorative items and plants, etc. The only time I'd look for them is when I need to furnish a newly made house for my sims. It took forever to get a house looking right tho

What I like about Sims 3 (with cheats on) is that I can get in and out of CAS multiple times to check on how my sims look like outside of it and get back in to tweak them again. Most of the time your sims never look like how they look in the actual game when you first made them in CAS. No need to exit the game and go back to Body Shop over and over again  Also, slider range hack and many other custom sliders exist so my sims never end up looking somewhat similar to each others, it's the best title out of the 4 when it comes to making sims so far 
Without the Create A Style tool in TS3, I would have never had the chance to make my sims do a cosplay of this iconic AHS scene

I never look at CC furniture not because I dislike it, I just feel like sometimes it doesn't match the aesthetic of the game, I also don't when people have sims that look like real porcelain dolls while the rest of the game is cartoonish.
The Sims 3, in my opinion, is the best for realistic CC.

I'll give it to TS4 when it comes to the enviroment and the lighting engine. The light looks soft and not all harsh on sims faces like TS2 (which was the worst ) and TS3. The depth of field blur is also a nice feature because pics now have more depth and not just end up looking overly detailed and uneasy on the eyes like in TS3. Though things like that shouldn't have been anything too special since TS4 is a newer generation game after all

Unforgiving, sis. MTS is as basic as ever when it comes to CC Yeah maybe they have some nice houses etc but their other stuff are really outdated. You ever check out those Sims 3 CC finds on Tumblr before? You ever heard of CC creators like simsimi-only-mine, black-le, semller, the77sims3, peacemaker-ic, remaron or lumialoversims and some other sims blogspots?? Their stuff kinda **** on the entire MTS catalog maybe except a few Mods, I'm not kidding. Look for CC finds blogs on Tumblr for TS3 & TS4 and you'll never see the CC on MTS the same way again. Open up your eyes, the Sims community on Tumblr is where the quality and creativity at, there's even a CC blog dedicated to making outfits Gaga worn

I know them all, I have a Simblr myself. But still, MTS has a certain standard when it comes to CC, Not anyone can upload their content there.
A lot of CC on Tumblr feels a bit fake to me. They don't harmonize well with the game, especially when it comes to TS3. Other creators have CC that fits well to the game like Ace Creators, Anubis Under The Sun, and Jocker.
For TS4, there's Stealthic, DOT, One Billion Pixels and BEO Creations.
I'm way too picky when it comes to CC

Stealthic hair are cute I guess, but they're like the Sims 4 version of Darko/Alesso . I guess it's just up to your taste, I mean I don't care how strict MTS is with people uploading their stuff there. It's just that to me, the stuff there is just ugly  You seem like those type of Maxis Match people back in the Sims 2 days where they'd go for things that look more simple and less on the realistic side so they go better with the aesthetic of the vanilla game. That style isn't for me. I mean, I'm more into making pretty sims to take pics with than actually playing with them. Feel free to check out my Flickr though, I'm not that active there compare to on Simblr but I still put some stuff from my Simblr there so it's easier to view without having to go through a bunch of gameplay pics ( mind some of the NSFW pics though  )

^ No it's the Adam skin, I just followed this tutorial where they show you how to make skins look kinda oily and shiny. The person that posted it kinda deleted their account for some reasons though
