Discussion: Why did "Change Your Life" by Iggy flop?

Because it just flopped. Why do you all seem to need an explanation for everything. Every song isn't destined to be a hit. If I didn't know any better I would think this was a high school algebra class for all the explanations ya'll need for everything.

And well it was only sent for adds to Rhythmic I think (?) And it did manage to go Top 40 there. And it's certified Gold so I think it was a good pre-Fancy single

maybe it wouldve been a hit after Fancy, but since she was too new she needed a blast like Fancy to really establish herself first

The people were here for Fancy not her, which is also why Black Widow smashed and Beg For It managed to scan platinum. It's also the reason PG peaked at 29. All you need to do is look at her "non fancy" hits and it's pretty clear tbh:

How is that a reach? Those are more than half of her total record sales and a big chunk of those come from Ariana. And he said Black Widow cause it became a hit off the Fancy hype

Sis you're one of my favorite fellow new members... But CYL and Work were never promoted here. Bounce wasn't even released in the US. In 2013 she was focused on the UK, her main market. When Fancy blew up, she started promoting here for obvious reasons. And the same happens with lots of artists

nobody was here for Lorde before Royals blew up. No one knew about Sam Smith before Stay With Me. Same with Charli XCX and Boom Clap. Macklemore with Thrift Shop, etc etc.

The difference is that most of those artists' weren't getting a full push like Iggy was with Work and CYL. Also a lot of their hit single that pushed them were their debut singles so no one can really be here for them if it's their first song ever released
