I know y'all are gonna hate on the Christmas album idea, but this could really work wonders for her. She obviously loves gospel music, and if she can serve vocally and release 1-2 amazing original songs with it, it could put her in a much better light with the GP artistically. If we're not getting an album until next year, at least this will be something.
no people are just going to slam her vocals bc kelly and mariah
She actually has amazing studio vocals when she really tries, see Roar's vocal stems for the final chorus. If it's a holiday single used in a promotional campaign, she'll go all out, unlike random album tracks.
Her White Christmas cover is really good so I might be here for it. Especially if this is what will keep us afloat for a while if she's really putting out KP4 late next year.

mess
I've read the reviews for that Christmas album that White Christmas is on, people hated it
Can you imagine if the US radio freeze ruins the sixth single from 1989's chances of smashing, while Katy gets tons of airplay with her future Christmas classic?
If there's something people hate about Katy consistently it's when she attempts classics.

In fact, all of the songs are well done with one glaring exception: Katy Perry. Her rendition of White Christmas makes me think that she was either drunk while recording, or deliberately mocking the song. Really unlistenable. It's a pity that such the one track would be so jarringly off-key in the midst of a very good mix.

A few are absolutely unlistenable: "Silver Bells" (way overwrought), and Katy Perry's "White Christmas" is a mockery. (Why does she do an X-mas song that she carries such obvious disdain for?)

If you could get rid of Silver Bells and White Christmas on this CD, it would be a must-buy.

There were a few songs I wasn't fond of - paritcularly Katey Perry's song. I like her, but this recording was bizarre.
+the queen songs, the beatles songs, the rolling stones songs, etc etc it goes on
