I mean she needs to tbh. plus Bad Blood is starting to low key plummet on itunes. now would be the perfect time to release a single. plus the 3 month mv gap between her singles is almost up. she usually announces a single like 2 weeks before the 3 month gap.
also the album is selling around 24k a week and is slowing down. it would be smart to release the 5th now to get those 40k+ album sales a week again

I know New Romantics has the biggest chance of smashing as a single but idk if it will shift a lot of copies of the album where as Wildest Dreams/Stay/Clean have album selling-esque vibes tbh

She did it with Style and BB some weks before the official date of release
She better say something about it this week and release it on Aug 17th or Aug 24th

It seems any single will be a good album seller at this point. No one expected Bad Blood to be an album seller yet 1989 shot up the charts across the world after its release and is holding strong.

then NR as single in year-end, with the deluxe edition of 1989 being available on US iTunes + release of 1989 DVD Tour
she can perform NR on Grammy in early February, and it will give so much sale boost when the airplay is big enough
it should be perfect timing for NR
