The overall plot and concept is exactly the same, except that for Taylor she's playing the nice girl.
Seems like Taylor has been playing the victim since long ago.

I don't want to be... be in your posse, girl.
I don't want to be all caught up in your social scene.

They also look lowkey similar. Poor Avril is kind of done though.

Mmkay, I draw the line here
But yes, Taylor's essentially been playing a beta version of Avril Lavigne since her transition to pop. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, 22, Blank Space, the bridge to Shake It Off (and probably most of her other tracks that I can't remember because they're so bland) are all obviously copied straight out of Avril's oeuvre. The only difference is that Taylor has none of Avril's songwriting chops or verve.

I'm not being mean. I'm just being honest. And it's not a race thing. I didn't care when Paul Walker when died, either.
I mean, I care less about Bobby Kristina dying, than Paul Walker dying, but it's not because I'm racist.
It's just because the drug addict's life had less meaning is all.

Sugar is better anyway. He probably realized Birthday was a B-side and decided to try a second time.

The only thing that is better about the sugar song is the video

I'm shocked. It sounded like a total flop when it came out. Who knew there'd be a niche for such experimental trance-house fusion?
Does anyone else hear the part of the chorus that has the same weird instrumental sound as part of Cool for the Summer? It's sort of an interesting bit for Max and Ali Payami to recycle because it only plays for a second.

This post alone proves you literally did not listen to any of 1989, or Red, for that matter.

I did, actually. And regrettably. Very bland.

True. She's like a watered down, vanilla Avril with a Katy swirl.

You Belong With Me is much more lyrically vibrant than "Girlfriend."
I've always loved You Belong With Me, because even though she plays up her role as the boyish, relatable girl in the song, in the context of her discography it's pretty obvious that she's not that girl, that the song is an idealization, because she never seems to understand the men she's pursuing. She's always dreaming or fooling herself into believing she's the girl for "him," but more often than not, she's the girl "upset, going off about something" that some guy has said. The whole song is a lie, just another fairy-tale of hers. She's not perfect for that guy, and he probably didn't notice how "close" they were.

The Kats trying to jump on Sazare's coat tails right now. Embarrassing. I don't want anyone with a MattelŪ version of a blowup doll as a fave trying to come for anyone.
