Teenage Dream comes to people's minds when they hear RAWM, they may not be very similar, but it's enough for people to draw comparisons.

I'm not saying it's a total rip-off like Birthday/Sugar, in fact I think it was an unintetional similarity, but let's not act like they sound nothing alike.

If you sing Tik Tok and California Gurls acapella or acoustic, they're nothing alike. The instrumental is the one that's similar except one went electro-pop, and the other went more funk-pop. It just shows that you can create a lot out of one musical piece (e.g. The hundreds of songs that were written just to fit the We Will Rock You sample)

The LIES YOU TELL in the fact that the damn chorus Sugar ripped off from Birthday and even the video concept was similar.

I'm glad that remix with Nicki minaj (now in 2011 a remix with Nicki minaj made Till the world ends peak at #3 however in 2015...) didn't make it go to #1.

Why use ripped off? They're both produced by Dr. Luke, he can use his past work all he wants.
