I miss the reign of 3D platformers I grew up with Crash Bandicoot and endless rip offs on the PS1 and they all slay. It's why I still love the main 3D Mario games.

I was playing Fast Racing today and I'm so hyped about the Wii U version. If they can make a game this good even with the ridiculous file size limit the Wii eshop had. Then the Wii U version will be ****ing amazing.

I like Donkey Kong games but never got the acclaim. Playing the Country games I was like ok this is cute and all but I'd rather play Mario.

I've only played Tropical Freeze and Country Returns so I don't have a connection to the series like you all seem to have.

Both were very uninteresting platformers. I could barely finish the first world in both of them

Tropical Freeze is the BEST Donkey Kong game there is so the series probably isn't for you.

The original DKC games are still the best in my opinion. They hold up VERY well and still feel pretty new for games that are over 10 years old. Id recommend purchasing DKC2 and giving it a whirl

I havent played TF but I did play the other for both Wii and 3ds and I think DK is much better suited for 3ds. It does lack some of charm of the originals & some characters are missing and replaced with generic foes but it still a good game. I think I enjoy it more for its odes to the originals.

Sister, you're literally sleeping on the most acclaimed game in the series (and don't let metacritic fool you, reviewers gave it less than perfect scores because of it's difficulty). It's seriously better than DKC2 and even I was skeptical at first.

Yeah I never got into the DK series either. I've only ever played DKCR on the Wii though.
