The movie is trash but that does not change the fact that Metacritic does not affect the Emmys in any way.

Why is William H Macy constantly the only one nominated for a damn Emmy from Shameless when his character is the least interesting? A ****ing fix. Emmy and Cameron deserve to be nominated there's no reason they shouldn't be if William is.

And he's not the only one. Joan Cusack is nominated more than him, cuz she's an Oscar nominee.
If it wasn't for their Oscar noms, the show would be getting nothing, so...

The hate for network dramas is real.
Out of the last 10 seasons, the only new ones to be nominated have been Heroes for 1 season and Good Wife for 2. It's now been a 4-year streak of shutouts.

I think the whole reason for this many surprises is the sole online voting, most of the old people probably didn't vote, since it will be the same in the next voting process I think it is safe to say we'll see new winners in almost every category. (The fact that Comedy Lead Actor is one of them is the best thing tbh)

Oh and I just realized Courtney B. Vance is not nominated, a damn shame.

Shameless deserves better and I love Frank but his nominations always raise an eyebrow. Emmy should have been nominated for season 4 storyline hands down and this year should have been Cameron (imo)

But that opinion is shared by the general public (the 3 million+ people that viewed the pilot of Freak Show then stopped watching by episode 3), people in the Freak Show thread after it ended, another member on this very page, and anyone with good taste.

Really cool. The show is still trash. The backlash that I've seen is a lot more immense than anything I've seen, but ok.

And you know damn well the awards are a travesty. Even parts that deserved awards (if even that) were snubbed. Jessica, Kathy & Angela getting nominated is more of a formality than something deserved.
