Now you are deflating her shipments. What you called shipments are her actual sales, she def sold 90 million + AT LEAST.

Idk why but I'd rather trust the label, guiness, apple, billboard, Yahoo, google, wikipedia, Us weekly, womens health, Ok Magazine, the bum on the street and Britney herself about her numbers than you. It just makes more sense to me

Labels inflate numbers all the time. This is a well known fact. Do you honestly think Rihanna has sold 54 million albums or Dangerously In Love sold 12 million copies
Britney's #s are massive the way they are and there's no need to inflate her sales. 85 million or 100 million, her ranking would be the same anyway.

Do you honestly think that these numbers are out of the question? Most of them are bigger than the receipts thread by no more than 200k There is nothing unimaginable about Blackout doing 3 million and Circus 4 million. ITZ was promoted really well in Asia and TSC could have easily done 1.2 million over time with catalog sales.

Britney's pre-Blackout album sales figure was reported as 75M by Zomba Label Group, Forbes, USA Today etc. Adding the 3M from Blackout, 4M from Circus, .8M from TSC, 1.9M from FF, 0.1M from BITM Vol 2 & .7M from BJ =85.5M, which is what we have in the receipts thread. Y'all

Oooh this tea.
A lot of you also need to keep in mind that labels pass record sales as album sales all the time. Most of the time it's straight up inflation (Jessica Simpson has sold 30 million albums according to Apple Music ) but sometimes it's albums AND single sales. This is why you can never fully trust labels.
The 75 million figure from early 2007 actually adds up to our estimates quite nicely.

Are you implying that none of her Pre Blackout albums sold more after 2007 when GH:MP sold over 2 million since then? + Our receipts don't have Blackout at 3 and Circus at 4. That is my main complaint. I can live with FF @ 1.9 and BJ @ 650k but I wont believe Blackout sold a single unit less than 3 million.

I have Circus at 4 million though. I never said it sold less than that.

Blackout shipped 2 million copies in 2007. I think the 2.5 million figure is fine.

2 requests. I want that photo of Britney standing against a horde of paparazzi in a kind of pants suit.
Also I want somebody to remind me the name of the photoshoot where Britney was shot in black and white with a snake on the floor taken sometime during 02/03

And I don't understand why you'd use shipments for half of her discography but not for her four latest albums
|
But when RIAA and Billboard track they go based on shipments.
Otherwise, have the exact number of sales which you all don't have

Although 200M records is a given, me thinks. I think with albums and singles she's at 175M - 180M so another ~20M from ringtones, DVDs etc is okay.
But whatevs next era she'll sell 15M+ records, I can feel it. So it's fine, we won't need those ringtones, DVDs to get B past 200M.

Just so you know 28M was noted back in the mid 00s for BOMT
Also back in the day, they would ship millions to the store in anticipation that the album would sell over time.
pre digital era where it makes no more sense.
Where do you all think those 3 for 1 albums come from...shipped albums that are now reduced to $5
