The thing is, she isn't in a place to say that she'll be performing at shows. If its at an upcoming award show (TCAs, VMAs, etc... which is what her manager replied to) it's up to the shows to announce the performers when ever they choose to and create hype.
And it's easy to see why they thought it wouldn't have done well - I said the exact same thing when the song leaked. It just doesn't sound commercial, something top 40 would embrace and is a complete 180 for Selena in terms of sound, lyrics and even the way she sings. Looking at what worked for Selena in the past, you wouldn't have expected GFY to be setting these first week benchmarks in her career.
