It was being called Hush for the production name. They're shooting this in Baton Rouge, I didn't know it was Scream the entire time.

I'm basing off the fact that Kevin Williamson and Ryan Murphy have similar writing styles. They love using dark macabre humor and snappy dialogue.



And the original Scream is considered a parody as well.

Nah. Scream's most important element is deconstructing horror, which is in this show and isn't in Scream Queens. And despite being a satire, Scream can be dead serious when it needs to be (Casey Becker scene), whereas everything we've seen about Scream Queens is that it goes full blown camp

I'm guessing Audrey is supposed to be the Gale. The whole filming at the party made me think of her, plus she'll probably be Emma's right hand girl.

The premiere was ok. Nothing groundbreaking. I'm also not feeling the deformed killer backstory. It's a slasher, it's never that serious!

I'm rooting for Riley to survive the minority curse and Brooke to survive the blonde curse.

As for who I'd like to see as the killer, I'd love it if it was Emma's mom going through a psychotic break.

Also, blonde curse isn't really a thing. Just a bitch curse OR a best friend curse (Brooke has a double whammy with both). Blondes have been final girls in plenty of slashers in the 80s. Fridays 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7. ANOES3. Halloween 4. My Bloody Valentine. And those are just some of the major ones. I know there's more too

I agree that it's an outdated cliche and there's been a few subversions, but that's where they seem to be taking Brooke's character.

That trope is literally referring to the whole best friend/bitch thing I mentioned. Lol. And a cookie cutter blonde final girl (Trish from Friday 4) isn't really a subversion. A real subversion would be if the best friend/sl** character lived over the good girl (For example, Megan in Friday 6 actually is a subversion. They even have a good girl who gets killed off instead)

That said, yeah. THAT trope fits Brooke's character to a T. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

It's also sorta wrong about the sequels, since Halloween 4 has blonde virginal good girl Rachel live. (She dies in 5, but not really because of this trope) And there's only, like, three more blonde girls from Halloweens 2, 4, 5, and 6.
