Flannery is another really new leader, only being in charge of Lavaridge Town for a brief period and it shows. Unlike hotheaded and confident fire leaders, Flannery is nervous and unsure and tries to imitate other leaders. She's challenging to a point, much moreso in Emerald where she gets a Camerupt, and her Torkoal can even take Water-types on. Beating her makes her realise she has to be herself and inspires her to be better. It's all very cute, throw in a good design and unique and cool gym and it's a good package.
Y'all were stanning for her design, HausofNiko branding her the "Goddess of Hoenn", Hugamari basing his score only on her "fierce" hair and PhreshDiamond living for the "LOUD era rihanna teas". Stan for the master ginger race. Staryu calls her a "psycho ginger", you will not come for my redhead sis, no ma'am. Eeveelution doesn't understand "the str8s their obsession with her", I do #gingerpower

Roxanne is an alumn of the Rustboro Trainer's School, where she graduated to become the Gym Leader of the city. She is the only female rock-type specialist #feminist, and an expert on fossil pokémon, even going searching for them with Steven Stone, the Hoenn champion. I like Roxanne, I think she's decently fleshed out for a first leader and her design is cute, even if her team is Brock rip-off.
HausofNiko says that Brock is better, but tells Roxanne to "stay strong sis". The others weren't so nice, Staryu finds her "too try hard" and Hugamari just thinks she's a "basic bitch". Poor Roxanne, she don't deserve this. |

I stanned for Flannery back when I was a 7 year old with Sapphire and seeing her pic in the manual. I was so excited to reach her and then I did and she stomped even though I had a Marshtomp.
