2018 - Gen 7 optimized for N3DS but will also run on normal 3DS like SSB4 or Monster Hunter
2019 - 3rd (4th) for the first gen 7 games or No game
2020 - no Game or 3rd (4th) for the first gen 7 games
2021 - 25th anniversay Kanto related games or Gen 8
Between gen 2 and 3 as well as 3 and 4 there has been a 2 year break so it isn't out of question and we'll always have a 2 year break in the middle of a gen.

A sequel is will obviously better. ANother remake is boring especially since it is a given that they won't add much.
