Musically it's far superior. The CTMH medley had that enormous high note, but retrospectively it neither has standout musicality or jaw-dropping choreography imo.

^ maybe not musicality, but the choreography was great in the CTHM medley IMO.
the execution of choreography was a little stiff in the IND DVD there you go version since she hurt her back a couple of days before the DVD shoot. i was at the concert a day after her injury and she had to cancel doing fingers. 2 days later she was in the UK shooting the DVD. it's not very noticeable with the acrobatics, but the chair dance and the there you go choreo sometimes look like she's a south park cartoon animation and everything seems a little choppy.
still, i prefer the IND there you go version cause of the spanish flair she gives it. but vocally there you go scala >>>
EDIT: about the vocals on the TTAL DVD: they're good, but it felt like technicalities kinda got in the way from having soulful vocal performances. like, she cared too much about the choreography in the medley and focused too much on playing the piano in TGE than just singing her ass off. not to mention her voice sounding a little ducky overall. but maybe that's just another technical aspect of the DVD.

I wish I had seen that show live. It didn't have that much show elements, it was focused on the fun and the rock'n'roll. It has the best DVD as well.
And I don't care about hitting notes or not, she had that special depth in her voice that made it sound great overall. The DVDs afterwards were recorded when her voice got weaker and exhausted, like, she didn't hit the high note in JLAP, or that note in YMMS. I hope she will do it differently next time.

the jlap performance in the ttal dvd might be the worst ever recorded.
generally, i don't understand why they didn't shoot the dvd during one of her first leg tours since it took place in the US and it would have been cool to have a US dvd instead of another aussie one. after all, she hasn't been this successful in the US since m!ss. (imagine a p!nk live in philly tour dvd <3)
overall, i'd love for her to film the very first night of a show. her voice would be at peak and not strained, and it would make for some real excitement and maybe fun ****-ups since it's the first show. then changes in setlist could be filmed individually and packed in a special feature of the dvd. like when she performed fire & rain or stopped doing IDBY and sang redemption song instead. stuff like that.
oh, and they should release a ****ing carnival summer tour dvd already! maybe add a bonus dvd to the next tour dvd of that one! there were professional cameras present (not only the ones for the screens at the venues), so where the hell is the damn DVD?!

What I think has bogged down the FH and TTAL tour dvds is that they were both not only horribly filmed and edited but they were filmed over two nights. Also, TTAL was only done in Australia again because the FH one is like the best selling DVD of all time there. It was cheap and pandering. Had she filmed it in Philly, they wouldn't gotten the iconic show stopping lesbian fight.
But the main problem is the editing. The last two show far too much audience and the camera is flying all over the place. It doesn't feel like a concert.
My gut tells me the next DVD will be filmed in the US and that the tour will be better. She had to do things a certain way to get the US audience caught up to speed

i agree. the editing and sometimes visual effects they used were horrible and took one out of the tour experience. to me, the best edited dvd that has the strongest tour-feeling and vibe is the TT tour dvd. it really encapsulates the energy that was going on and the raunchy fun everybody had. plus, i just love her voice in it (yeah, yeah, it was deep and hoarse, but it was rock and amazing and just fit perfectly).
true, filming the concert over two nights really cheapens the effect of being there for the viewer. i understand that they try to fill in blanks or conceal messed up moments here and there -- but that's the charm of being at a tour and it's weird they would rob that experience from viewers just to make the dvd seem more slick. things have gotten a bit too calculated.

So is she moving back to Philly?
That house is beautiful tho. Exactly how I would imagine my dream house.

Just Like A Pill is a perfect example of a song that I love, but I don't love anywhere near as much as others do.

IT’S THE SUPER BOWL BECAUSE IT’S THE SUPER BOWL OF PERFORMING. [PINK AND I] WERE SUPPOSED TO DO THE SONG [“JUST GIVE ME A REASON”], WE GO OUT THERE TO REHEARSE, AND SHE’S TWIRLING AROUND UP THERE, SHE’S NOT SINGING BECAUSE HER VOICE IS MESSED UP AND SHE WANTS TO MAKE SURE SHE’S GREAT FOR THE SHOW. BUT SHE’S UP IN THE AIR, TWIRLING AROUND LIKE A MOTHER****ER; AND I GET UP THERE ONSTAGE, AND I’M SINGING, AND I’M LIKE, “ALL RIGHT, WELL, IF SHE’S NOT SINGING, I’M GOING TO TAKE SOME LIBERTIES WITH THE NOTES.” SO I WAS TRYING NOTES I’D NEVER TRIED BEFORE, AND SHE’S SPINNING HER ASS OFF, TELLING THE PEOPLE THERE EXACTLY HOW SHE WANTS EVERYTHING. EXACTLY. SHE’S VERY METICULOUS. SHE’S UPSET ABOUT THE WAY THINGS ARE UNFOLDING, AND I’M JUST, LIKE, HAPPY TO BE THERE, BEING LIKE, “IT WILL WORK WHEN WE GET ONSTAGE!”
SO THE NEXT DAY, I GET THERE EARLY, AND I GET A NOTE, LIKE, “ALECIA WANTS TO TALK TO YOU.” SO I GO INTO HER DRESSING ROOM, AND IT’S JUST HER, AND SHE’S LIKE, “DID YOU SEE THIS?” SHE’S SITTING NEXT TO A LAPTOP AND SHE PULLS UP THIS VIDEO, AND IT’S OUR REHEARSAL VIDEO. AND SHE’S LIKE, “DID YOU SEE THIS?” AND I’M LIKE, “NO, WHY THE **** WOULD I WATCH OUR REHEARSAL VIDEO?” SO SHE GOES RIGHT TO ONE OF MY BENT NOTES, PAUSES IT, AND IS LIKE, “YOU’RE NOT GOING TO DO THAT, ARE YOU?” AND IT WAS AMAZING. NOT ONLY IS SHE DEAD SERIOUS WHEN SHE’S REHEARSING, SHE’S WATCHING FOOTAGE AFTERWARDS! AND THAT’S WHAT MAKES HER GREAT, AND MAKES THE GRAMMYS GREAT.
