Some of you obviously can't read. She's not saying she has an issue with the 3-month free trial. She's saying that she has an issue with the fact that Apple is asking artists to allow for their music to be streamed completely without any type of compensation for 3 months. By her choice of words, she clearly saying that if they were compensated to some degree for these 3 months that she would have put in all on the table, because she recognizes how much of a role Apple has played in her career. Some of you are bringing up Spotify's free tier as if it's comparable when the only issue artists had with that was that they weren't getting paid as much as they wanted, but they were still getting paid. No one, including the labels, are getting paid during the 3-month trial with Apple.
I completely agree with her that Apple should pay these artists something for these 3 months because we all know that in 3 months time, a lot of these artists' music would have been streamed millions of times and that's a lot of money essentially wasted. For all we know, this service may not even take off the way they'd like.
Apple is an amazing company that has revolutionized the modern music industry and supported so many artists, so it's great that she isn't afraid to give them some tough love with this and speak out.
