Iggy was bigger but Nicki was more talented. In my eyes, it was a toss up.
This year Iggy doesn't stand a chance against half of the people listed in that category, considering after the awards last year she became useless.

Its actually Best Female Hip Hop Artist. And the "Best" is of course subjective.
Numbers wise, Iggy had the highest selling rap album for both male and female rappers at the time.
She had 2 of the biggest songs of the year. Problem and Fancy.
Nicki's "soundcloud" and street releases didn't measure up. Nicki knew she didn't deserve the win but was just relieved that she won. Her speech tells it all.
