She definitely wants to return to her roots one day, and she's been talking about making an acoustic album for ages. Even Dr. Luke said he'd like to produce an acoustic album for her.

This precisely. Everyone in heir right minds wants it from her--even she herself does. But she probably realizes she needs, like, one more pop album before she can return to--or least base a current sound off of--her singer-son writer, acoustic pop rock roots.
