They know what happens and can film it, but it would be in Martins best interest if he did publish the book before the show started to the general audience. Or he could give the producers a gift and release it after Season 6 ends that way the show is new to everyone but If I were him, I'd throw the book in first now that he has all the hype, both book readers and show watchers want to know what's next so have him present it. Season 7 will definitely be the one that catches up to him.
