Eh... My aunt tried that with my cousin but it just didn't work. She took away his games, didn't let friends come over, took away his tv and still lied about doing his homework until she tore that ass up. He has been doing his homework ever since then.

Whooping a child is such a lazy way to discipline your child. Positive reinforcement is more effective but it does take a lot more work & consistency. Parents are lazy.

I don't think I'll ever beat my children. Honestly, it just makes everything worse. I'll raise in a way where they wouldn't need beating in the first place. My parents never beat us. A small smack on the back was the most. Or a sandal thrown at us, but that was only once lol.

Beating a child will only make them rebellious later on.

I didn't get beatings growing up, tbh. I got popped a few times. Then again, I actually listened to my parents. I was such a good child growing up.

That's not the way to think. Build close relationships with your kids so respect, friendship and love is earned on both sides and that will never happen.

I agree. Also I think it can (sometimes) encourage violent behavior in kids and cause a strained relationship. Like, do you want your kids to not do things because they fear the pain you'll inflict on them or because they understand it's wrong? If explaining doesn't work, then there are other ways to discipline your child that don't include physical contact.
