Who do you guys think has had a bigger legacy, Brandy or Aaliyah?
Kool_Aid_King convinced me Brandy had the superior legacy. I mean Aaliyas death did immortalised her, that gives her an advantage. The young acts continue to claim Brandy. Ariana, Jessie J, Beyonce etc. Queen.
How in the hell did Cheek 2 Cheek fix her image?
It was like a flash in the pan album that no one paid attention too?
Just because you don't like Gaga and choose to only focus on negatives doesn't dispute the fact C2C era did change her image to lots of people.

When Julie Andrews complimented her it was just the icing on the cake. I was floored by Gaga's performance, most unexpected moment of the night for me!

Honestly this is one of the best musical performances I've seen of one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, so if you didn't manage to watch it live then definitely give it a listen. much respect for lady gaga right now. Hope you enjoy it too.

I am fully convinced there is not genre Lady Gaga can't do justice. Her recent Stevie Wonder and Sting tributes blew me away. Add to that her jazz chops , it's really almost unfair to level her against the current field of pop stars out there.

Gaga has shown time and again just how fantastic she is as an artist. Yea, she's weird when she's in pop mode, but when she sings with Tony Bennett, she has an air of class to her, and she kills it on stage. She'll always be an oddball, which is totally cool. It's her thing. But she's amazingly talented and can do so much with her voice.

You know what? I've always kept the Lady Gaga songs I listen to under the "guilty pleasure" category. But this makes me feel like I shouldn't be doing that anymore. She's insanely talented and this made me decide not to be a closet monster any longer.

I'm a grown man. I got a tear in my eye when Julie Andrews came out and gave her that hug. My elderly parents have both been raving about Lady Gaga for years, saying that she's the savior of pop music, and that she has one of the best voices on the planet, and for the most part I disregard what they say. But no. That's is one of the best singers on the planet. Beautiful.
I'm tired of these Janet stans starting appreciation threads of songs I've never heard of before. I run in there every single time thinking it's new music

Still more respectable than falling back on alimony.
The young acts continue to claim Aaliyah too. They have for the past 10 years.
Go home.
Aaliyah is an Urban fashion icon. Brandy is not.
But I'm not fighting you on this.
Again
Imo, I agree. Aaliyah is the Rihanna to Brandy's Beyonce. Well, minus the single success. Brandy was literally all around more successful than her. As Damien said, her death elevated her.
