They're 'reporting' old and off stats. Most of the numbers they're stating in their articles are the ones from their forum, in which fans are posting official sales, but also estimations. And considering they're not worldwide chart providers, worldwide numbers on their article are just ridiculous. You can say they're official, but I won't even consider them as official.
Let's compare some today's numbers with some old official stats:
Just Dance: 87.000 (2011) | 88.000 (2015) ( +1.000)
LoveGame: 76.000 (2011) | 74.000 (2015) ( -2.000)
Eh, Eh: 52.000 (2011) | 52.000 (2015) ( =)
Telephone: 120.000 (2011) | 120.000 (2015) ( =)
Alejandro: 130.000 (2011) | 130.000 (2015) ( =)
Judas: 74.300 (2011) | 70.000 (2015) ( -4.300)
And... Applause: 44.000 (2014) | 60.000 (2015) ( +16.000)

The Edge Of Glory has to be certified 3x platinum too It sold 2,920,000 copies, I refuse to believe streaming isn't enough for it to be 3x platinum

Hey, could I ask the monsters something? BR has sold around 6M right? How is it possible to scan 11x platinum? I mean regularly, the 5x platinum is coming from US streaming right? Isn't that a bit high?

I'm not a Monster but I'll answer
It sold 5.6 million in the US, so that means the other 5.5 million "sales" are coming from the streams. The video itself has over 600 million views, it has (at least) 50-60 million streams on Spotify (I can't check, I'm not near my laptop), and when you count other streaming services and the countless YouTube user-generated videos it spawned, it's safe to say that the song has well over 700 million streams.
The conversion rate for pure streams to stream-equivalent sales are 100M US streams = 1 million US sales. Given this, the 11x certification for BR is completely normal.

Yes but these 700M streams are WW figures, not US. I mean for example, DH has the same sales but double streams, how can it be only 9x when BR is 11x?

Dark Horse may be under certified. It takes time. Like, RIAA certified Poker Face 9x platinum only today and before that it was 5x Platinum with pure sales of +7M. They're so late. Both Applause & DWUW weren't certified until today, despite them selling enough to be certified.
So yeah, maybe Dark Horse is already Diamond or 12x/13x/14x platinum, they're just late if that make sense. Considering Dark Horse's YouTube views, Spotify streams & its sales, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Certifications aren't automatic and must be done manually by the label and/or artist, so DH will probably be updated soon. Katy's label moves slow with their certifications.
As for BR, those 700M+ WW streams contains just enough US streams to get pushed to 11x.
Again, it could be way more than 700M total streams, I'm probably underestimating by a lot.

You should ask RIAA rather than the monsters: http://www.riaa.com/news_room.php?co...media-contacts

I know several songs each by Luke Bryan, the Zak Brown Band, AC/DC, and Guns And Roses to name a few that are all undercertified.
Currently "Uptown Funk" and "Radioactive" are both undercertified. Billboard listed "Uptown Funk" at 7x Platinum on the Hot 100 (which itself is too low now) for two or three weeks before reducing the certification back to 5x Platinum.
Since UF went over 6 million in sales this week and has long-term strong streaming, the song should at least be at 9x Platinum. Maybe the label wants to wait until UF is eligible for a 10 million certification to make it the first Diamond Certified/10 Million Certified single on the Hot 100 since "Candle In The Wind 1997" 17 years ago.
"Radioactive" is probably over 10 million with streaming by now too, as with sales alone the single is closing in on 7.7 million. It's still in the Top 5 on Rock Streaming Songs more than three years after its release.

Wish her label would focus on getting certifications in countries where sales figures are never published instead
Like mainland Europe, Latin America, Australia, Canada, Asia (besides Japan)
US/UK/Japan figures are easily found these days

Pretty silly certifications to be honest.
Bad Romance is at 11x because of 5,6M sales + 6M (coming from 600M views) = 11,000,000
yet
Applause is at 3x platinum, despite having sold 2,6M + 3M (coming from 200M views on YT + 100M streams on Spotify). Should it be at 5x Platinum at least?
If we follow the same rule set for BR:
Just Dance: 8x Platinum
Poker Face: 9x Platinum
LoveGame: 3x Platinum
Paparazzi: 5x Platinum
Bad Romance: 11x Platinum
Telephone: 5x Platinum
Alejandro: 4x Platinum
Born This Way: 5x Platinum
Judas: 3x Platinum
The Edge Of Glory: 3x Platinum
You And I: 3x Platinum
Marry The Night: 1x Platinum
Applause: 5x Platinum
Do What U Want: 2x Platinum

No. Those are WW numbers. You'd need to only include US streams (Out of those nearly 300M, maybe only like 100M come from the US) which isn't enough for Applause to be 4x Plat or more.

So you are telling me that Bad Romance has been streamed over 600,000,000 times ONLY in the US?

Maybe it had a ton of streams back in 2009/2010 on videos that are deleted now but Interscope/RIAA still kept track of them
