Changing one sound to target radio is the prime example of selling out.

Of course, Lana is mainstream because she's popular but she didn't sell out whatsoever. In fact, she has one radio song that wasn't even the original form but a remix. No selling out there.

I will be than more than happy if she sells out because I know she be making the best Pop music in existence.

but he had Wanderlust on his last album and this honestly doesn't sound that much different
it has its MJ influences

You can make radio hits without having success at radio (Lana per example). And just because you have a hit song doesn't mean you sold out (The Weeknd)

Gurl, selling out and being mainstream is two different things but ok.

Pop artist can't sell out because they have been pop.

Leaving your artistic integrity and changing your sound to be more commercial to appeal to a mass audience THAT IS selling out. There's a difference between having a hit song with YOUR sound and having hit song because you changed your sound. Boo boo kitty.
