I really don't know. I really think Wren is Charles. So maybe Mrs. D put them both up for adoption. Charles was sent to London and became a Kingston, and Bethany was giving to the Young family. Like I said above, if their parents are indeed Marion & Scott, they both had mental problems. So maybe Mrs. D is just the aunt who couldn't take care of them? That way Mr. D probably was clueless. Have you seen that Byron & Aria deleted scene b4? He asked her who drove her home, and she said WREN. He has this face like he knows who that is, and is worried that he would be driving Aria at all. I think he is the parent who knows more.
I'm liking this Scott/Byron + Charles = Wren theory because it makes sense with all the Aria is A clues and why they haven't interacted on screen + Aria dismissing Wren as a possible suspect with that fake pic from the lair. But if they were given up Byron really wouldn't know who Wren is at least his TRUE identity.

I think Charles is at least part of the motivation. He's the 'why.' I really don't know how, though. I also think some of it links back to the twin story and how the dolls represented the Liars and the girls fought over the Alison doll.

Also a good point is ALOT of ppl in RW write alike tbh. That Harold guy from the LW resort who some think is Byron's brother writes a lot like A and Byron.
How? Well the morgue. Who do we know is a doctor? Wren. All that talk about kidneys and stuff. And that talk about how long you can go with food and water? I think it's the writers way of letting us know without telling us explicity?
Also all the other **** in the dollhouse. The posters, the popcorn, the piano, TEA TIME. Spencer's "He seemed familiar".

I mean even Sydney / Shauna were brainwashed into hating the Liars because of Jenna being their "why" but for Cece that'd kinda pathetic.

I think they just hire one writer to write for everyone to make it legible for TV.
