Hello castaways! I just announced Redemption Island as you all saw on the last post.
I am including this as a twist to the season that I've only previously done on my All Stars Season...
Redemption Island
What is redemption island?
After being introduced in Survivor: Redemption Island, it was later used in Survivor: South Pacific as well as other seasons.
It is a twist that allowed "eliminated" players to fight for a chance to return to the game. After being voted out by their tribe, the eliminated player would head over to Redemption Island where they would live alone until the next player was eliminated. Once that player arrived, the two would duel in a challenge and the winner would remain on Redemption Island. This process would continue until the Merge in which the remaining Redemption Island inhabitant was brought back into the game.
Many tournaments on ATRL have a "Comeback Round". Think of this as Survivor's rendition of that.
How will it work in this game?
The first player to be eliminated from the game will head on over to Redemption Island. When the next player is eliminated, the two will face off in a duel. The duel will be just like the normal rounds as they will participate and submit a song. However, they will get last choice out of fairness to the players still in the game. Their scores will not be added to their former tribe's average.
The losing player will be the first person officially eliminated from the game. The winner will remain on Redemption Island and eventually be re-inducted into the game once the Merge hits.
The first resident is musicfan09
Soon to be joined by two others.
Hopefully that makes sense to everyone. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
~sigh~ Here we go! Oh, and @Yvess, I was joking around about the Endurance bit. I'm cool with you and I knew you were doing your job. No hard feelings. But you betta hope that I'm not the first to go! Heh. About the "Black Sheep" tag, I say since your judging scores were way different than the others. Besides mine, one example was the Who Says score. Not ethan of all people calling you at for your judging scores. But, we were mean no harm. Don't worry, you will be the hang of it.
Edit: Sorry, Musicfan09, but it seems you were just that unlucky. Redemption Island, cool. I kinda of remember watching that season.
Previously on Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 5), 24 castaways split into three tribes: Mawimba, Dalgani, & Strujala. They were immediately thrown into R1 where the players were asked to send in a song relating to girl power. Overall, most started out strong while a few players made their tribe sink. In the end, Tribe Strujala achieved the first victory of the season while Tribe Dalgani managed to take second place. In last place, Tribe Mawimba was the first tribe to head to Tribal Council. With Element immune, it was musicfan09 who became the first eliminated player of the season. However, he was soon informed he was not eliminated yet, but the first resident of Redemption Island. What will happen this episode on Survivor: ATRL Edition?
Welcome castaways to Round 2 of Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 5)! First off, congratulations on surviving through the first round of the game. However, this journey has really just begun so let's keep on moving...
The theme for Round 2 is...
Love You Hate You ~I really shouldn't miss you but I can't let you go~
This round we're focusing on relationships where you can't live with them, but you truly can't live without them. Your entry this round should lyrically represent a love/hate relationship where as much as the couple may bicker and fight, they know they're meant to be when all is said and done. The relationship matters more than the road blocks in between.
What To Do:
As always. PM the artist and title of the song you are submitting. No explanation included.
There are still 23 contestants in the competition so sending a back-up choice is still beneficial at this point. There is no Redemption Island Duel since there's only one resident as of now so musicfan09 gets to sit pretty until next round.
Take Into Consideration:
The panel will judge the audio/lyrics of the track you submit. Music videos will not increase or decrease your score as some music video plots differ from a song's true meaning.
The theme is what is important here. You will not receive a low score because you sent in a song one of the judges does not like. Taste will most likely only be the determinate in whether you receive for example a 8.5 or 9.
The song you choose should display the meaning upfront. An interview with your artist clarifying the meaning of the song will not be taken into consideration.
Judging Scale (May Vary By Judge):
9/10 - Great entry. Track displays the theme given head on.
8 - Good entry. Displays theme well but not as well as others.
7 - Okay entry. Fits decently but is missing something overall.
6 - Somewhat tackles the theme but falls flat.
5 - Track mentions theme but is otherwise off-base.
3/4 - Song does not hit the theme given.
1/2 - Song has to do with a completely different subject than the theme.
The example for this round is "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson off her fourth studio album 'All I Ever Wanted'. Lyrically, the song has Kelly singing on how her boyfriend may be a major pain to deal with, but her life would suck if he wasn't involved in it.
Quote:
Maybe I was stupid
For telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong
For tryin' to pick a fight
I know that I've got issues
But you're pretty messed up too
Either way I found out I'm nothing without you
The deadline for this round is 6:30 PM US PST Timezone. Here's a countdown for those in other timezones:
