And VOL IS the perfect debut single. The lyrics are about her thanking God for realizing her dream of becoming a successful singer/songwriter, and it's exactly what she blew up with. Like how flawless is that?
Not even getting into the vocals, that doo-wop arrangment, the agility and flexibility and range and runs and legato that established exactly who and what Mariah would be. Y'all can stop with that nonsense.

With the exception of that last shoulda-been-top-10-elimination today's dismissals were rather good. Pretty much all of the songs are very good but they simply weren't supposed to get any higher. All in all, it looks like a very good and deserving top 30 -- apart from When I Saw You and Vanishing not being in it.
