The biggest radio station here in the UK has the power to make or break songs and they loved I Really Like You so it became quite a big hit. Kiss had quite a few bops, lettuce pray her next album can deliver too (it's still gonna bomb though)
I Really Like You smashed here because it got constant radio support basically straight away. It was originally supposed to come out next week here but got pushed up due to the pre-order success so I'll be surprised if she isn't here for some promo spots in the next couple weeks.
That scene in The Americans where she slits that guy's neck below the ear but it's only a small cut so that he bleeds out slowly and she can take pleasure in telling him why she's killing him and watch him suffer.
I like the UK charts in that they do not have as many county and rap songs in them so cool songs can go top 40. Didn't Lana's singles from the Born to Die era all go top 40/top 100?

Seriously though when Katy flops what does she have to fall back on? At least gaga could fall back on being able to sing and could release a Grammy winning 1m selling jazz album. Honestly idk what katy is gonna fall back on.

Eh, Teenage Dream alone is already guaranteed a spot in pop culture for being the first album since MJ's to have 5 #1s

At least Katy can fall back on the fact she (hopefully) isn't gonna have suicidal meltdowns over her flopping like the Fad did
