Well, now that I think about it, maybe it had something to do with the MDNA Tour/Real Housewives crossover teas she tried to serve with that putrid performance on the semi finals. She was already awkward to look at by herself and the way she got on stage with those 4 50 year old woman doing what they thought was "dance" and the way she kept looking at the camera as if she was going to send her russian mafia to kill your mother in her sleep just made it worse.
I don't know how this didn't get into the finale, esp. because almost everyone was saying 'omg top 10 in the endD, fo SURE' and then we didn't make it past semi. I remember thinking that if we couldn't get in with this, we'll probably stop sending songs at all soon, and three years later...
God, we're such a flop compared to what we were in 90's, early 2000's.

danijela martinovic, maja blagdan (highest note ever in the ESC, the balkan mariah), Doris Dragovic>>>>>>
Which is maybe why Italy was ranked lower by the jury. People seem to forget that position advantage or disadvantage or unlucky commercial breaks before a performance is not a factor when the jury does their part. That is only something we as viewers are influenced by.
Italy their position was an advantage vs Swedens in that aspect.
