"“Things are a lot different now compared to how it was when I was with SNSD. I really enjoyed the time I spent with the other members, but now that I’m by myself, I have a lot more time now. I am planning on going to school to seriously learn more about fashion design, but I haven’t decided on the exact timing for that yet. I’m just actively studying on my own for now. I realized that no matter what I go through, a more comfortable time soon comes. Even if I go through something very difficult, as more time passes, the happier I become.” "
“If I was still a SNSD member, I wouldn’t have been able to do this shoot. Idol groups have to always be happy. They have to be kind, and pure, and bright. But I’m already 27 years old. I can’t forever remain a happy little girl. Someone might think after seeing these pictures, ‘Now that she’s out of SNSD, she’s taking off her clothes.’ But I’m not a little girl anymore. I think it’s okay for me to portray Jessica as a woman. Since I debuted when I was 19 years old, there are times all the restrictions and limitations can get irritating. Now, I can make all my own decisions. It wasn’t so bad deciding to come to this photoshoot all by myself.”
I'm so happy for Jessica. She's clearly feeling her oats and being free of the idol industry while kind of still being it. I understand her contracts with SM aren't 100% terminated but she's doing her own thing and having a good time with it.
That's important. I hope the idol industry starts viewing these beings as humans and not robots or immaculate figures.
That Red Velvet + Taemin photo. I would LIVE for Taemin to do something with RV. I don't know what, but I would love for him to do something with them. Show them how important it is to be in sync and give all the energy you have possible.
I dont really follow them very closely but i know some details. The controversy you mentioned might either be viki a former member leaving or an accident involving subin last year.
About the members:
Woohee is a lead vocalist but she has the most singing lines due to her soft and friendly voice so most of the time she sings the chorus etc. She joined after viki left.
Subin - maknae and main vocal. She is in charged of adlibs and higb notes. She went into an accident last year and the group delayed their comeback
Gaeun - main rapper.
Serri is the leader and lead vocalist ie 3rd best singer in the group.
Ahyoung is a vocalist and face of the group.
Jihyul is a vocalist.
The last two members are actually quite useless in this group
OMG, are you serious? All this time I thought Jiyul was the visual. Ahyoung is the most basic member wit ha snaggletooth and non-singing ass! Y'all wanna talk about Yoona being Milli Vanilli but this bitch straight up lip synced to Wohee's vocals for Mr. Bang Bang.
Jiyul is basically forced to rely on image in Dal Shabet because her natural voice is too deep for their material. Homegirl sounds like an ahjumma when she talks. She can sing well and play the piano, though.
Speaking of Mr. Bang Bang, that was their BEST era. The best song, most fitting concept (just the right amount of aegyo), their styling was cute, all the members got lines in the live performances, 2 different choreographies and most importantly, the accompanying album SLAYED!
Too bad that era is also when they started their decline into complete irrelevance.
Oh My Girl I thought they were getting recognized? I guess it could be worse and at least they're selling around Rainbow, Bestie, Crayon Pop and Fiestar's numbers with their debut single...

Still better than Laboum and their 648 copies sold on debut.
