You never know - Bad Blood could actually be a legit lead single for a rerelease. It wouldn't be something she's done before, but she's pulling out literally every other pop stereotype this era.
Sometimes I feel like she's going straight back to Red-style country pop or even straight up country and just did 1989 to prove she could.

I was thinking she might've been headed towards making an electronic (as in stuff that's production-wise similar "Out of the Woods", "New Romantics", "Welcome to New York", etc., not dance pop lmao) album bc imo that would've been the natural progression from 1989. But then she started hanging out with HAIM and Lorde, and Hayley, and she went to that concert for that rock band the 1975 (i think) in like January, which made me think she might go for a more indie rock/alternative pop sound, but now the "Bad Blood" remix has me thinking she might steers towards a more drum heavy, rhythmic-ready sound.
Good lord, August 2016 is too f**king far away. Lord better serve lead single success teas with future 5th, 6th, and 7th singles "Wildest Dreams", "Out of the Woods", and "New Romantics" in the meanwhile.

I wouldn't expect anything else like Bad Blood's remix in the future if she stays pop or goes more alt-pop. I'd definitely expect her to expand more on the sounds of OOTW.

What role?
Also BS was bigger but nobody calls it a lead, same with IKYWT, YBWM

I remember a few weeks ago there was a Billboard article on how Ariana was able to get 5 consecutive hits from a single album, and the vice president of her label basically said that it was because each single was strong enough to present itself as the lead single. Which in Taylor's case this era, is true.
"Shake It Off" obviously worked as a lead single. "Blank Space" was huge, and who knows how much huger it could've been as a lead single. "Style" would've been a great lead single, and only really underperformed bc of the video and lack of promotion. I wouldn't say "Bad Blood" is a lead single per se (imo at best it could've been a 2nd single) but it's still a strong single choice, so I'm not surprised it's performing so well (granted, it had a ton of hype w/ the video and all)
Part of me wonders if "Bad Blood" would be performing as well as it is now had "Style" been more zeitgeist-y like the other singles.

Have to go to sleep, love to reply to your posts feel bad not having enough time discuss this with you.
Here is my answer:
LEAD single is called as LEAD for some reason, it not just leads the singles also the album sales. To do so, it must be able to make people talk about.
Never Ever qualified with some negative impact, but still good LEAD single.
SIO is much more positive, even a better LEAD single.
They handled BAD BLOOD very well.
All of them have one thing in common, the social impact.
If a lead single doesn't have social impact, nobody is talking about it, its LEAD is a SECREAT, I would rather call it a SECREAT single not a LEAD single.
Big singles do NOT always sell albums well, your other fav is a good example.
Mobile is so hard.
Good night!

Taylor doesn't have time for re-releases. New album is only 15 months away.

I kind of think she should do an even bigger pop album next. Something completely over-the-top massive, and then completely shift to a country, folk, alternative crossover album.

, i love hearing your opinions you always make everything so much more interesting. I guess that makes sense, if the single further hypes up the era it can be called lead.

The problem is she can't split singles anymore like she did in previous eras, so she'll either have to release more singles and delay the new record or end the era after the sixth single (at best).

Imagine her dyeing her hair black, start wearing thick eye shadow and black clothes - and release a really dark / rock album
Will the world be here for that Haunted era? State of Grace, Eyes Open, The Story of Us, The Last Time, etc are pretty rock. What do you guys think?
And yes she will be rocking on her guitar again!

She's talked in the past (like early Red era, I think) that She was afraid that She peaked at 18 with Fearless. Red and 1989 were clear attempts to prove to Herself and others that that was not the case. Aside from that, having hugely successful eras at this point in Her career has no downsides; She's racking up a catalog of hits that should allow Her to continue touring stadiums for as long as She breathes, and She's making such serious money that She's definitely set for life and could disappear from the spotlight at any time She wanted to.

Yes, I'd love for Her to go the alt-pop (HAIM, Brandon Flowers' new LP) route. The influences are already there in 1989 and beyond.
I don't think She's releasing in 2016, though.

Yeah, She still hasn't hit the age where pop radio ageism sets in. She still has time to bang out another big pop album or two before they start phasing Her out, at which point She should become more of a songwriter (Speak Now) and less of a pop star (1989).
I'll be so upset if She's in Her 30s tarnishing Her name with desperate attempts to score a hit single when there's no chance of (pop) radio supporting it.
