It's not that she hasn't done the type of songs, Coddie. "Pretty Girls" very much follows the blueprint of
specific material that was trendy in 2014. "Work Bitch" followed the blueprint of specific material trendy before 2013. Because of these, they aren't seen for their work but noted for "sounding like _________". Which is not Britney.
When she did "Toxic" and "Piece of Me," people were calling them/her ahead of time. Not demeaning the material, noting what it copied and other negative things.
Working with Max is not a "trend" considering he continues to work with people, and the work is always pretty varied. "Bang Bang" does not sound like "Blank Space". Much like how "3" doesn't sound like "Teenage Dream".
People like Max or Bloodshy bring their best for Britney.
Had The Invisible Men been more creative, say like The Outsyders ("Womanizer"), we could have a new defining Britney song. Instead, it's a Britney song on the template of songs we're already familiar with. Therefore gives us just enough life, but not the 100% Brit is capable!
