Britney Fans Launch Concert Petition

Local fans of Britney Spears have launched a petition in a bid to get the chart-topping pop star to bring her world tour to New Zealand.

Spears yesterday announced six Australian concerts in November on her official website, but no New Zealand dates.

Two promoters spoken to by Stuff.co.nz said they were not interested in bringing a Britney Spears tour to New Zealand.

But fans are doing their best to try and get the Womanizer singer here.

A petition, called 'Bring Britney's Circus to New Zealand,' was launched and had around 70 signatures by yesterday afternoon.

"Please Britney come to New Zealand," said one poster.

"Can you add a Wellington date in addition to Auckland? That would be freaking awesome," said another.

As well as the petition, a Facebook page was started and had 276 members.

Spears is yet to perform in New Zealand. Overseas reports suggest she lip-syncs for much of her live show.

She is currently touring in Europe, and yesterday faced new controversy over a series of topless photos published by a British tabloid.

To bad she didnt come to Orlando the first time around i had to drive 2 hours to see her in Tampa. I was very dissapointed no live singing and really realy crap dancing and she was NOT into it. I was very up close (VIP West) I will not be wasting my $ again this time. Lady Gaga's the fame Ball tour was 18.50 in Orlando and that show was as good as a pre sticky and sweet Madonna tour. It was flawless.

I agree her early dates sucked ass, but her recent performances in London have been great.





She is definitely into it, and her energy is 10x what is was on the North American Leg.
