Kosovo won't join anytime soon. Spain doesn't want to recognize anything with Kosovo because of their own situation with Catalonia wanting to break away. Since they are in the Big 5, Kosovo can't join until Spain says they can.

Oh, and the jury voting is so important! You can't win with just a gimmick.

Conchita did not win because of the beard. Obviously it got her attention but when people watched her they got a brilliant performance of a great singer and a catchy big song.

A gimmick will only get you so far. You need quality. A gimmick will only help you get the attention you need.

For example I remember some excellent songs that were lost in the mix because the performances/performers did not stick out.

It does depend also on staging and act. Nobody would have thought the Netherlands would end up so high last year but on screen, with the background and everything the song became alive. Hopefully that will happen with Why as well but I doubt it.

The past years the winner was predicted pretty accurate.

Last year they had 1 and 2 correct, Austia and the Netherlands
Loreen was overwhelmingly betted as winner and that turned out true, same for Germany and Denmark.

Belarus has a good song. The rehearsal was very underwhelming though
