Either way, the First Class trilogy is damn near flawless. I kinda wanna see what Marvel could do with it.

A reboot is unlikely right now, they have the newbies in Storm, Jean and Scott plus Nightcrawler and Jubilee. There's possibly others that they can build on. X-Men works well because you can interchange main characters and still have a solid movie, unlike Spider-Man, so as long as the movies they make keep generating coin, it's unlikely Fox will want to give it up for the foreseeable future. And why should they? They took a massive gamble making a $70M+ comicbook movie in 1999-2000 when the DC-dominated comic world was a camp mess and nobody was checking for it anymore.

X-Men is deliberately styled differently to anything Marvel makes movie-wise. I hope it stays that way for as long as possible.

Where do you guys see the series going after Apocalypse? I know the events of X-Men 2 and 3 were erased(?) so do you think they'll continue jumping decades and the next film will be set in the 90's or will they just continue on from the 90's since a mostly new cast has come in as younger variations of characters we've already seen before?

I think it's likely they'll keep with the younger cast.

Most of the original cast are aging on quite a bit.

Singer will likely stay attached to X-Men in some form, but I think he'd rather step aside after Apocalypse (but I could be wrong!)

I think they'll try an X-Movie with the newbies if its well received. Fox have an untitled 2018 summer release slot which many speculated was for an X-Force movie but it could easily be a follow on from the 1980s section of Apocalypse.

If you watch the first X-Men, you can really tell the 15 year aging difference.

But not a big deal though. Would love Ian and Patrick to be back soon.

Eh, hoping the new Jean Grey will allow a different actress to play an adult Jean eventually. Famke was alright but I just didn't like her as much as the others.

Ian has aged a lot if I'm being honest. The set pics of him on DOFP show how much make-up they used to help downplay that. P-Stew and his fierce baldness is ageless so he could play Xavier forever

I think as nice an idea as X4 with the original cast is, it's unlikely. Going forward after Apocalypse it'll probably be about the younger guys and you can't keep having time travel in every movie.
