'Love Sex Magic' was a quick little pop hit for Ciara and she still saw her lowest first week sales and overall sales at that time, so I think the public has made up its mind on Ciara, regardless of what genre she tackles.
And 4 isn't a good comparison because it still went platinum without huge singles. That's power, something Ciara doesn't have.

Ciara's fanbase is miniscule and at the end of the day, the last thing she needs is to alienate them even more by catering to a different audience. I Bet isnt good but If her album really is full of pop songs like her stans are saying, I can definitely see why her label pushed an urban song first out to cater to her audience.
Her label needs to develop artistry and a damn identity for her.

why do people keep saying this? 1st of all her last era didn't flop it did fine for a female r&b artist. 2nd of all she hasn't been on the same label during those 4 albums.
and 3rd of all she's still 1 of their more established acts
But I Bet is dogpoo though. Surely she had some say in choosing that as the first single. She has literally the worst taste in her own music, this is the same person that tried to launch an album with Never Ever like....

but it didn't? sure if you're comparing it to beyonce or 1 of the pop girls it's a disaster FOR THEM. but she isn't on their on level commercially and hasn't been since 2004. im sure her label weren't expecting her to do those kind of numbers. her album campaigns also aren't as expensive as theirs.
a flop is something that people expect to do well, i can't imagine that her sales last era were far off from what they were expecting, give or take maybe like 10k? idk
Ugh, I wish Ciara would pull better numbers. I haven't heard "Jackie" but "Ciara" is an excellent album which deserved way better..

Ciara's got millions, a highly acclaimed tour, a hot new man (who happens to be superstar quarterback), a beautiful and healthy baby, and she gets more and more gorgeous every year. She's making huge strides vocally, she hasn't lost an ounce of her performance ability, and she seems happier than ever. Don't cry for Queen when she's busy living her best life.
