Different understanding of the same words or using different words for the same thing were causes of air crash (investigations). Better safe than sorry.
Not to mention their almost non-existent respect for building code, safety norms, doing things properly,... When their buildings and skyscrapers were reviewed, between 90% and 95% were just waiting for their collapse. Elevators crashing down is a regular problem because theirs aren't designed for the amount of people they can squeeze in, while ours are designed for the amount of people you could never sqeeuze into it.
The Chinese don't dare to eat locally produced food, because they know what they have done with it. If you don't want your baby to get killed/handicapped by poisoning, you have to get milk powder smuggled from the Netherlands on the black market.
That's how Europe is making money nowadays, by offering them the expensive quality stuff they can rely on. The Germans sell everything premium to them, even the most simply items like kitchen utensils. In the German big cities you can find the shops of those brands in the most touristic areas and they all have a Chinese employee selling stuff to the Chinese tourists. You are the most sure of the quality/authenticity when you take it home from abroad.
When Europeans don't want to buy an Chinese appliance, the Chinese asked why and found out that there is no CE and other logos on it. They simply go to the printer to get any logo you can ask on the label.
While internally it can be designed so unsafe that any electrician in the West would reject it when the inside is exposed to them. Phone chargers literally electrocuted people to death because of not letting a few more mm air gap between the 230V side and the lower voltage side.
