The African American community is CONSTANTLY trying reduce violence , but at the end of the day poverty and lack of opportunity drive crime in ways that blacks can't march around and get rid of.

I live in the hood and I know for a fact its less of a "lack of opportunity" and more of a "lack of of worth a damn parenting" My parents never taught me to look at myself as a victim, and always look for something better, no matter where it is.

Who gives an eff what your mom taught you. Your mom can't say ish that will make jobs magically appear in the community for people to not have to turn to crime. You mom can't say ish that will improve schools and education systems.

Stupid platitudes like "wanting better" and not "not being a victim" only mean so much. Some schools to do not provide the resources for someone to ace the SAT in get into a better college than a rich private school. It is what it is.

Completely missing my point with this comment. My point was that people are specifically demonizing a group as if the traits apply to that group only. I never said it was okay.

Lucky for you to have a stable home life and good parents. Everyone doesn't have that. Everywhere in the world the impoverished have a higher chance to turning to crime. It's not "hood specific".

I was in a chat with this older African Guy from the Kongo and I've never encountered talking to someone who so unabashedly talked crap about African Americans. Just hella vile. What's worse is that the chat was full of white people, so it was even more awkward.
