Idolator: “Infinity” is distinctly unromantic a kiss-off anthem that sounds like a cross between “Obsessed” and “You’re Mine (Eternal).” It’s a smooth mid-tempo ballad that showcases the pop icon’s full register and knack for writing hilarious one-liners (...). It’s extremely catchy and quintessentially Mariah. It will be interesting to see how radio responds, but there’s no doubt that Lambs will love each and every second.
Billboard: For Mariah Carey, revenge is a dish best served in a 90's-tinged heartbreak anthem. Carey premiered her new song "Infinity" (...). The throwback-flavored track is a soaring break-up track, complete with sassy lines that shut down the guy she's singing about. They are the kind of lyrics that might have speculate that the track is about her recent split from Nick Cannon. Or perhaps it's just Carey returning to form as the queen of post-heartbreak empowerment.
