Everything has to be so public and over the top with these people.
Wear your dress, put on your makeup, and live your life Bruce.
This interview was so unnecessary.

Living up to your username I see
Beside the fact that Bruce used it to announce her new life, it was also used to bring awareness to the trans community. So before you speak make sure you know what you are talking about.

Yeah, she'll just trade that in for the Incoming onslaught of judgment, harassment, criticism, and humiliation coming from people who don't have enough compassion to know better.
What a ridiculous comment.

Yes, I'm sure every trans woman wants to experience being a woman at the wonderful age of 65 in front of National television

Oh really now. The U.S. is further back than I thought.
Bruce Jenner over Isis King, Alysia Yeoh, Balian Buschbaum, Alexis Arquette, Laverne Cox, Amanda Lepore, Lea T, etc?
He's famous for nothing. Admire these people who are actually living normal lives like the rest of us instead.

He's not famous for nothing, he won a ****ing olympic gold medal. Can you please get an education before you speak. Even without his credentials, he is on one of the most popular television shows. This isn't "America's Next Top Transgender Person". It's just his story. Get a life.

Are you trans? If not, please don't try to dictate which trans people should be admired and which should not.

Way to completely miss the bigger picture.
The fact that this program was used as a tool to, at least begin, to educate the masses about the truth about gender makes it 100% necessary. It's not like it's every day that millions of mainstream media viewers are exposed to knowledge like this. We're living in at time where most people still think that sex and gender mean the same thing and are inseparable. We need all the help that we can get.
Wow... This comment really upset me with its pettiness.

If there were other things that mattered more, then no. If I was earning $500k a year then the tax breaks afforded with marriage mean little. Hospital vistation rights mean nothing because I'd have private insurance where I can do whatever I want. Employment discrimination means nothing because at that earning level you're in control of whatever you're doing. So no, even if it remained illegal, if it didn't actually help your life compared to what might hurt your bottom line if you voted for the other side (say, if that $500k you earn would turn into $300k thanks to a new tax distribution), most people would still vote for the party that was trying to keep it illegal. People are selfish.
Going back to my own story, I would honestly rather have my family making half a million a year but without the right to marry than having the right to marry but making half of that. The education, employment and lifestyle (health, where I live, travel, etc) opportunities available with a much higher income would make my life a lot better than the chance of being able to get married. Like, let's be realistic. The gay community is so sexualized and relationships can be so hard to maintain becuase of the pervading culture of "get as much sex as you can and never settle down" that most gay people aren't even going to end up reaping the benefits of gay marriage.
|
I guess that's where you and I differ? I won't get into this with you but I would never give my vote to a party who doesn't view gay rights as civil rights. End of.
