Anyway, lyric videos are definitely not a waste. They are an official source to stream the song with guarantee to count for Billboards charts, versus multiple uploads and spread out streams and wrong tagging/not being counted. More people will search to hear in on Youtube before buying it, so better they do it officially/first link pops up.
The video being shot early means it'll be ready in that 3 week span I posted, but will be better if done the week of single release or week after. Week of will give us a great debut, but 2nd week will be better for longevity. Then the performance.
Again, this is only if it's not ready. Editing takes a few weeks, but we don't want it to be choppy and badly edited like HIAM being rushed to premiere as the song tumbled.

A lyric video in this instance would be a waste if they have the music video finished with editing and they wait to release it a week after. I did not mean lyric videos are a waste in general, but with what Brit's team has planned so far (BBMA performance 2 weeks after the single debuts) it wouldn't be the best plan.
That'd be three different videos uploaded each week and streaming would halt immediately from the lyric video (waste of efforts) when they could just release the MV the same day as the single releases.
If it's not ready then they'd have no choice but to go with a lyric video of course, but here's to hoping this is not the case

Really curious to see what they decide to go with though for future reference
